Bio
Mary Trunk, who resides in Altadena, CA, is a filmmaker, choreographer, and multimedia artist. Her films explore seemingly ordinary subjects, such as a family's disintegration, the choices women face in their dual roles as mothers and artists, and the process of aging in dancers. Through her work, she delves into deeper inquiries: how do we comprehend our personal histories? What possibilities lie before us? And how can we create significance in our lives? With over 30 years of experience, she has produced and directed documentaries, dance videos, experimental hybrid films, and paintings. Additionally, Mary Trunk serves as a film, video, and screen dance professor at Loyola Marymount University, Mt. St. Mary's University, and Art Center College of Design.
