Bio

Kristin Tieche is an award-winning producer, director and editor. Her work has aired on National Geographic, CBC, Smithsonian Channel, Science Channel, Al Jazeera America, PBS, CBS–5, Fox Worldwide, Link TV, Fine Living Channel, Food Network and Home and Garden. She produces for the environmental series, "Bay Area Bountiful" for Northern California Public Media, and is editing the Court TV series "Someone They Knew with Tamron Hall."

Kristin’s storytelling provides viewers with immersive, visceral experiences that intend to inspire action and transform minds. She has earned an international reputation as an environmental filmmaker and skilled documentary editor. She is known for her award-winning environmental and social commentary films, including "Forms of Identification” (2011), an experimental film about identity crisis, and "The Spinster" (2013), a bicycle horror film that won the Jury Prize at the Boston Bike Film Festival. Her popular short film series "Velo Visionaries" (2015-2017) has enjoyed global exposure at film festivals focusing on urbanism, sustainability and biking. Her first feature documentary, "The Invisible Mammal," about bat conservation and women in science will be released in 2025.

Kristin has worked as a producer and editor on feature documentaries that include Sundance Audience Award winning "Fuel" (2008), PBS/Independent Lens film, "Power Paths" (2009), and festival winners, “Love Thy Nature” (2014) and "UberLand" (2019).

Kristin holds a Master of Arts in Television, Radio and Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, and teaches film editing at Diablo Valley College.
