Bio

John Badalamenti, born and raised in the vibrant borough of Queens, hails from a family deeply rooted in the arts. His father, Steve, was a jazz trumpet player, and his uncle, Angelo Badalamenti, was a renowned musical composer for movies and TV, most notably known for his collaborations with David Lynch. His younger brother, Stephen, is an actor based in New York City.

John's journey in the visual arts began with training in color retouching and photographic techniques at a graphic arts trade house in NYC, serving Madison Avenue ad agencies. He soon expanded his expertise to include architectural photography, video, and drone-aerial work before founding his documentary film company, Desert Horse Media LLC, in Arizona.

As a producer and director, John has brought compelling stories to the screen with his feature documentaries, "Horse Heroes" (2021) and "Saving The Ice" (2024), both of which achieved distribution. With a robust background in photography and video, John also serves as the Director of Photography on his film projects.

John's primary focus in his documentary work is to shine a light on the unsung heroes who make a significant impact on others' lives, capturing their inspiring stories with authenticity and empathy.
