Gijs van Amelsvoort Pro

Hi there! I’m Gijs van Amelsvoort, a Netherlands-based composer creating music that puts storytelling at the heart. My work blends classical influences with contemporary sounds, always exploring new textures and ideas that give each story its own unique voice.

I’ve had the pleasure of writing music for notable projects including the Netflix Original documentary The Deepest Breath (A24) and BBC titles such as Cheetah Family & Me, Earth’s Great Rivers, and Grizzly Bear Cubs & Me, with my music broadcast on BBC One and Two, NPO, CNN, and other international channels.

I’ve also collaborated closely with composer Nainita Desai on projects ranging from the EA Original game Tales of Kenzera: Zau (winner of ASCAP’s Best Video Game Score) to immersive art installations such as Bruce Munro’s F.O.S.O., which premiered in California in 2025.
