Bio
Richard Baron is a documentary filmmaker, sound designer and web producer. His debut short feature as director/producer, Lanfranchi’s Memorial Discotheque, premiered at Popcorn Taxi in Sydney, winning various festival awards and an Inside Film Award nomination. The film was also acquired by both the Australian National Film & Sound Archive and Documentary New Zealand Trust.
His audio post-production work can be heard in numerous film, TV and radio projects and he was the winner of the 2009 Australian Screen Sound Award for Best Sound in a Short Film.
Richard also heads the Australian branch of Pixeco, a boutique web design and marketing company that specialises ‘digital outreach’ for documentary film.
He is a committee member of OzDox, The Australian Documentary Forum and a member of both the Australian Directors Guild and Australian Screen Sound Guild. He has a film degree from UTS and completed post-graduate studies in documentary at the AFTRS.
