Vaishali Sinha Pro

Vaishali Sinha is the co-director/producer of the award-winning documentary MADE IN INDIA about the human stories behind transnational surrogacy. Vaishali directed/produced the award-winning feature documentary ASK THE SEXPERT about a longtime sex advice columnist from Mumbai who gains popularity against the backdrop of a ban on sex education curriculum in one -third of schools across India. She is currently working on her third feature documentary about male contraception development, titled GIVE IT A SHOT, in co-production with Sandbox Films.

She is a 2023 Bellagio Center Residency Fellow, Firelight Media DocLab Fellow (2016), Flaherty Seminar Fellow and more. She is a creative advisor for the non profit Hidden Pockets Collective working on sexual and reproductive health and rights in Bangalore, India. She is one of many founding members of the group Bitchitra Collective: Indian Women in Documentary.

Vaishali's films have received support from MacArthur Foundation, ITVS, Catapult Fund, NYSCA, Chicken & Egg Pictures, NYC Women's Fund, Tribeca Film Institute and HotDocs Forum, CPH Forum, Gotham Spotlight on Documentaries, and more. Vaishali is born and raised in India and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
