Juan Gamero Pro

Director, photographer, cameraman, screenwriter, editor and independent producer. He started filming in 8mm and working as director and camera assistant in cinema. Author and producer of two shortfilms selected for the Berlinale 1982 and San Sebastian 1983, he worked in TVE (Spanish public TV) in all kinds of programs. In 1990 he directed and wrote the series "Prisma", a personal proposal of 26 films selected for INPUT 1990, Prix Futura Berlin1991 and exhibited at Expo Sevilla’92 and Centre Pompidou. In 1992 he directed the closing film of the Olympic Games in Barcelona for the RTO (Olympic TV). During the last decades he works mainly on documentaries. Director and screenwriter of “Living the utopia” (1997, 94 min., Arte-TVE), “Carme Riera, landscapes for happiness” (2001, 50’, TVE) and director, co-screenwriter, cinematographer and editor of "Searching for the first european" (50', Turkana films. Gold Medal World Media Festival Hamburg 2012, Special Jury award Docscient Roma 2011 and Bronze World Medal New York Festivals 2013). In 1999 he founded with Carmen Rodríguez the company Paradocs producing documentaries filmed in Bali, Ecuador, Cuba and Mali. The Karamazoffs (A walk on the SoHo years) is his most recent project, best documentary in Arte Non Stop Festival (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Figueira da Foz Festival (Portugal). vimeo.com/channels/juangamero
