- Synopsis
Are we where we are from? Does place create identity as much as family or culture?
Ostensibly, this essay-film will respond to these questions through an investigation into the nature and uncommon characteristics of San Francisco, depicting textures of the city that are unfamiliar to tourists, subverting traditional imagery and contrasting spoken thought with visual observations that offer subtle emotional and humorous conclusions.
At its heart, however, this is a journey to confront the ramifications of the death of a father during adolescence and document how life’s disparate fragments are tied together by the notion of place.
