- Synopsis
In January 2009, the institution of governance for Ghana changed hands from President John Agyekum Kufuor (NPP) to the incoming government of Prof. John Atta Mills (NDC) after hotly contested elections in 2008. The transition that resulted, from a majority government to its opposition party, marked a high point of political maturity for Ghana. This documentary, A NEW FACE FOR AFRICA, is part of the "Democracy series" by the Emerging Media Institute; an attempt to document for history the lives of some leaders in Africa and their impact on the democratic processes on the continent . It is also an auto- biographical sketch of the presidency of John Kufuor, the policies and legacies of his administration, from 2001 - 2009.
