"If you want to change your life, you can do it!" Alcindo overcame his family's poverty in the village in the crater of a volcano on the Cape Verdean island of Fogo, where he now lives with Laeticia from France. Former bodybuilder Vincent escaped his traumas in Denmark to find peace at the foot of the volcano with his family. Ralph left Germany behind to create a plant paradise on the inhospitable volcanic island with his partner, Ella. They all faced disaster, but they courageously took control of their lives. With impressive images and simple clarity, this film shows the vulnerability and power of both nature and people. Every image and conversation sensitively captures these contrasts. When the lava dances on the volcano, we grasp the magic and violence of life.
