Synopsis

This video was produced in August 2010 to support a wide ranging student climate change project for GLOBE - Franklin Climate Change: Exploring Connections between the Past and Today. The project combines areas of history, mathematics/statistics, Earth science, computer/data visualization, and global communication. This project centered around colonial era data collection with the corresponding video written and directed by John Buchanan to support the GLOBE organization's Student Climate Research Campaign (SCRC). John is an actuary and chairperson of the Climate Change student outreach subcommittee of the CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society).

This entertaining 8-minute video was produced highlighting the link between climate observations from historical figures and ordinary citizens to those observations from today. The project is sponsored by various international groups GLOBE, ACRE (Australia), UK-Met, American Philosophical Society (Philadelphia), NOAA, NASA, Google-UK.
