Gordon Crook was known as a great colourist. Trained at the Central School of Art in London, Crook emigrated to Wellington, New Zealand in the 1970s where he garnered a following. His paintings and tapestries are in private collections, Dowse Art Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum, London. He worked right up to his death at 89.
