For twenty-nine straight days in 1945, Manila was scene to a horrifying atrocity of World War II: at least 100,000 Filipinos were massacred as the city around them was reduced to rubble and ash. Now, nearly eighty years later, childhood survivors of the war reflect on those traumatic days, the course of their lives, and the modern-day struggle for the remembrance, understanding, and acknowledgment of this forgotten tragedy.
