Overview

Synopsis

It won’t take long to fall in love with Van Hoang in the documentary Painted Nails. An immigrant who doesn’t speak English, Van seems an unlikely candidate to be an American activist. But through the course of the film, it’s clear she has unintentionally become a contemporary Norma Rae or Erin Brockovich, with an entirely new cause that affects not just factory workers or victims of regional environmental contamination, but nearly every person in America.
