- Synopsis
Western society holds a stereotyped view of native peoples. The preconceived and prevailing image in social circles and in most of the media is the one that says that to be truly Indian you have to walk around naked, speak to yourself instead of me, be naive and not have access to technology. Any Indian leaving this pattern is identified as an Indian who has lost his roots. But being an Indian is not a question of a feather headdress, annatto and archery, something apparent and evident, but a question of "state of mind". The series I'm Modern I'm Indigenous proposes a counterpoint to this prevailing imagery.
