In 1924, George Antheil, a young American composer living in Paris, composed the world's most outrageous piece of music. It called for xylophones, bass drums, a siren, three airplane propellers, a set of electric bells, and 16 synchronized player pianos. It took 75 years for the piece to be heard. This is its story.
