Synopsis

ROAD TO INGWAVUMA (ing-wah-VOOM-ah) documents a unique journey to the heart of post-apartheid South Africa by some of America’s most respected activist artists and their families. Their mission is to help end extreme poverty and the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Led by Artists for a New South Africa (ANSA) in support of the country’s children, this latest documentary from Peabody and Emmy winning filmmaker Barbara Rick is an exploration of South Africa’s triumphs and struggles since the fall of apartheid through the eyes of this remarkable delegation. With Deborah Santana, Alfre Woodard, Samuel L. Jackson, Carlos Santana, CCH Pounder, Jurnee Smollett and appearances by Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and others.
